sunday afternoon fun

We decided to head out for an adventure one Sunday afternoon.  So off to the local beachfront we went.  The kids played at the park for a while, we some had afternoon tea, then we went for a walk along the jetty before heading down to the waters edge where the tide was out.  At first we could see these funny shapes on the sand but as we got closer the kids noticed they were tiny solider crabs.  So with their shorts rolled up the kids had a ball running all over the beach chasing the crabs - and quite frankly terrorising the poor little things.  The kids could not believe how many crabs their were.  Their were literally hundreds and thousands of them scatter all over the beach in HUGE groups.  We had such a great afternoon filled with lots of laughter!!

Benjamin loves to cook.  So when he asked to help Dad cook the BBQ how could we refuse.  BJ and Daddy cooked up a storm  - steak, sausages, mushrooms, pineapple, pumpkin, onion, capsicum.....  BJ definitely proved to be a chef in the making.

The kids love it when Daddy takes them to the skate park early on Saturday mornings.  Mummy also loves it because it means I can have a sleep-in in peace!!

All the kids love riding there scooters and there is no better reward then having a go on the jumps and trying out new tricks.  This does mean accidents and injuries - and YES trips to the hospital!!  Matthew being the adventurer that he is tried to do a 'trick' but feel over his handle bars and hit himself pretty hard.  Therefore, off to the doctors he goes for a check up jsut to be sure but the doctor advised Daddy to take Matty to the hospital as he had blood in his urine.  So 6hrs later the hospital discharged Matthew with a bad case of internal kidney bruising.  We had to keep an eye on him for a few days and he had to have a few urine tests to make sure the blood left his system - it took two weeks but eventually he was all normal again!!  Nothing like a trip to the hospital to fill an afternoon. 

Matthew the adventurer

Matthew loves to have an adventure.  So recently he learnt how to burn paper with a magnifying glass.  Matthew has loved to learnt this new skill, Mummy hopes it doesn't get him into too much trouble! 

Also Matthew loves to rock climb.  At our local Anaconda store you can pay only a few dollars to have a turn on the rock climbing wall.  This is one activity he absolutely loves.  Benjamin is counting down the days until he turns 7 so he can have a go.
