camping on the farm

For two years now we have headed out west to the 'farm' to camp with some great friends. This is definitely a highlight of the year for the kids. Matthew and Benjamin really enjoy this long weekend away. They get to ride their bikes all over the property, feed the chicken and collect the eggs, go treefrog hunting at night, cook marshmallows on the fire, pat the cows, ride Charlotte the Shetland pony, go exploring in the sheds..... all the while the girls are trying to keep up with them. This year we all (7 families) took off the Moograh Dam for a walk along the dam wall, a BBQ picnic and a paddle in Uncle G's blow up boat. Again the boys had a ball! While at the dam, Uncle Chris bumped into his cousin who happens to own a farm out there too and invited us all back to his place for a hay ride. This was definitely a highlight. The kids loved riding on the trailer watching the cows try to chase us down as we were sitting on their dinner (hay!) so when we got to the end of the ride the kids then got to throw the hay to the cows. We all had such a great time away and we can't wait till next year!

makes me want to sing "on the farm every friday, on the farm it's apple pie day". I could continue but I will save it for when I am with you all to sing it personally.
Love you all Noonie xx
