Disney On Ice

For Annie's birthday she received a ticket for Disney On Ice, so we may a girls day of it.  The girls absolutely loved watched the dancing and were mesmorised from start to finish.  I don't know what they loved more, the Cars characters driving on the ice or Tinkerbell ice dancing.  It was such a great day with lots of happy memories.  The girls also came home with a special Tinkerbell cup thanks to Noonie.

kindy girl

Well the time has come that I have been dreading....my baby girl goes to kindy.  Lucy was so happy that finally her turn had come to go off to school.  Me on the other hand was not quite ready for it!!  So MY mum (Noonie) had to have the day off to be with me!  Lucy had an absolute ball.  She made some new friends, met her wonderful teachers and painted to her hearts content.  Me on the other hand cried a little, kept looking at my watch and was one of the first mums to pick up their child.  Lucy loves kindy.  She loves all the activities, especially painting (which her teacher says she has a real talent for), loves being with her new friends and loves library.  I just can hardly believe all my babies are off to some form of schooling - how time flies.

happy birthday Lucy

I can hardly believe my Goose is 4.  I have LOVED every minute of Lucy and she has added so much love, laughter and enjoyment into our family.  We are all so blessed to have Lucy as part of our family. At the very beginning I wondered if child number four was going to be a blessing!! I didn't realise that 'morning' sickness was going to be 24hrs a day for just under 30 weeks with Mummy taking medication 3 times a day to try and keep it at bay or that Daddy (& Matt) would have to bring dry toast to bed for me to eat BEFORE I even lifted my head from the pillow or that I would be calling Daddy to come home from work early to help me with our three other small children (what a VERY understanding school he works for) MOST days of the week or that Noonie would be coming over ALOT on the weekends to help Daddy keep up the washing and cleaning or that you would be entering this world in a very quick fashion.  BUT it was all worth it.  Lucy Goosey you make our family complete and you bring so much joy to us all and I cannot ever imagine my life without you. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face.

swim and a chat

These two girls adore each other.  EVERY night we find them sleeping together in the same bed, they play together so beautifully and they are never too far from each others side.  So when I saw them swimming together my heart just blossomed with the love I see between them.

my girly girl

Lucy

Lucy is definitely a girly girl.  She loves all things bright and beautiful!  Lucy loves all jewellery, crafts, dresses, high heels, hand bags, babies (real and not so real) - everything her older sister is not.  Lucy names and loves all her 'babies' and makes sure gives them all equal attention.  Her favourite 'babies' at the moment are - Baby Betty, Daisy, Dora, Baby Jessica, Ella, Milly and Sarah - and these are to name but a few. Even when we are visiting our friends she takes a liking to all of their jewellery, for example - above photo - taken at a friends house - none of that jewellery is ours! Lucy and Annie are so different in so many ways but they are such great mates.  They really appreciate each others differences and similarities and when they are playing with each other they very rarely fight as they just know how each other are.  Love my girls...

painting

Annie and Lucy

The girls love to bake but more than that they love to decorate.  So Annie asked if we could make the 'painting biscuits'.  This is when you make the dough, roll it out, cut out your shapes and then paint them BEFORE you bake them.  These biscuits are delicious and a lot of fun to make!!

lip gloss....

Lucy covered from head to toe with lip gloss!!

All I can say is "thanks Aunty Karen for introducing Lucy to lip gloss."  One morning while Aunty Karen was looking after Lucy, they decided to go shopping.  While shopping Lucy asked for some lip gloss so, of course, Aunty Karen said yes.  After a few tips on how and when to apply this lip gloss, Lucy came home with the new purchase.  The next day however, Lucy must have forgotten the tips from Aunty Karen (or decided she had a better idea which I think is more the case) and applied the lip gloss ALL over herself!!  from her hair right down to her toes. I worked this out when Lucy came downstairs to me and said "I haven't been doing anything Mum" and I hadn't even asked her a question. So as she walked to me I could smell a very strong strawberry smell and at first I couldn't see anything until she came real close to me and I could see this slimy stuff all over her face with pink speckles.  When I asked her what she had done her reply was "I put on my lip gloss"  I couldn't help but laugh.  We then went upstairs so Lucy could have a bath to see if the lip gloss would come off but we couldn't have one until I took a photo as evidence for Aunty Karen that I don't think Lucy is ready for lip gloss.

our funny girl

This is how Mummy found Lucy during one afternoon nap...

...she found the mask Daddy brought back from his overseas trip.

Lucy is definitely our funny girl.  She tries to make us all laugh at every opportunity, which means she usually goes to any great length to get us giggling.  However, this time she must have been waiting for me to come check on her but she did not count on falling asleep first.  So as any good mother does - we take photos of these priceless moments!!!

Angelina Ballerina

As part of the girls Christmas present, Mummy and Noonie took the girls to see Angelina Ballerina at QPAC theatre.  It was a very exciting time for the girls because this was the first REAL ballet the girls have seen.  (Mummy hopes it may be the last as I am not too fond of ballet, but Noonie hopes this is the first of many!)  The girls were mesmerised by the whole experience.  Annie imparticular was taken in by the whole performance and Lucy kept asking where Angelina was when she was not on stage.

After the performance Noonie and Mummy took the girls for a special lunch at the Pancake Manor and then for a browse through the bookshop where Noonie spoilt them each with their own ballerina book to help remember the very special girls day out.

my baby is growing up...

Happy Birthday Lucy

I can hardly believe my baby has turned 3.  Lucy had a very BIG day for her birthday celebrations and it was quite confusing for her.  The day started off with Mummy waking all the kids up at 1am so we could surprise Daddy arriving home at the airport.  This was a huge surprise for Daddy as he expected to see the kids in the morning when they all woke up. Once we got home at 3am the kids were so wide awake that they wanted Lucy to open her presents, so after the kids woke Noonie up it was time to start celebrating her 3rd birthday.   Lucy loved sitting on the couch while her brothers and sister handed her the presents.

After the present opening timeMummy and Daddy thought it was a great idea to head back to bed for a little more sleep before we tackled the rest of the day.  So off to bed we all went for another 3-4 hours.  When we all woke up again we sang 'happy birthday' to Lucy but she kept on saying that it wasn't her birthday anymore.  She did not understand that it was still her birthday!!  When we came to do her birthday cake however, she finally acknowledge that it was indeed her birthday.  I don't know if that was because she finally realised it was or that she thought it was the only way she might get some cake!!  We love you so much Lucy Goosey!

gorgeous girls

One morning I found the girls like this:

Annie(4) reading books to Lucy(2.5) in the backyard on a blanket.
Seeing this just made me want to melt and then I stopped to ponder for a moment to realise I have seen this kind of thing before.....
Annie (2yrs) reading to Lucy(4months)
Annie loves reading and Lucy loves being read to.

10 July

This is a special date that I remember every year, my mum's birthday. However this date now has a new memory, the day Lucy got her hands stuck in a moving treadmill. When I first saw Lucy she was in the car screaming saying her hands were sore as Daddy dropped off Annie and BJ and raced up to the doctor. My heart just ached for her as I could not take the pain away. Once at the doctor she gave Lucy some special cream to put on and for Mum and Dad to put on every night and that was it. But two days later (Sunday arvo), Mummy just happened to be speaking to a nurse friend who recommend we take Lucy straight up to the hospital on Monday morning for the Burns doctors to look at it as it sounds more serious than what the doctor was saying. So on Monday morning Mummy took Lucy to the Emergency department at the hospital who immediately gave her some serious pain relief and took us up to the burns unit - 2 hours later! There the specialist assessed Lucy and informed Mummy that it did not look good. So they put special dressings on and splints on both hands to keep them straight so the scars could grow straight up and down without causing her fingers to become permanently bent as the burnt skin was over her knuckle joints. The specialist informed me that if the hand and fingers don't heal enough by Friday then he will have to do some skin grafting. This was not good news so alot of people from all over started praying for Lucy. When we went back on Friday the doctor was amazed at how fast Lucy's hands were healing and that her right hand was making a full recovery and that it did not need any more splints or dressings and that it will continue to heal itself. However the left hand was still not healed BUT instead of scheduling a skin graft he said he will give it 7 more days and if it is not healed enough by then then he will indeed graft the hand. Well this was good news to Mum and Dad but more prayer was needed.

Lucy at home before her appointment to see the specialist at the hospital

at McDonalds for lunch after being such a brave girl
After seven more days we went to see the specialist again and he was amazed again at how well the hand was healing but it was not enough to stop the need for grafting. So he informed us that on the following Monday Lucy will need at least four spots grafted but it could be up to at least seven spots. Mum and Dad did not stop praying because anything could happen over a weekend. And it did! After the surgery we were told that Lucy only needed three spots done, two were serious (on her two fingers) and one spot on her palm which they only did because they had left over skin. So even though Lucy did have skin grafting God still answered our prayers as Lucy only had the minimal amount done.

It was a very gruelling experience for Lucy and one that Mummy is glad is over - or at least the surgery part of it. Lucy is now on a slow road to recovery

While the boys are away, the girls will play

While the boys went on a camping trip with Dad, the girls had a great time at home. It was such a great way to start the holidays for both the boys and the girls.

It all started with chocolate pancakes with strawberries after church.

Lucy & Annie eating pancakes
After a quick sleep it was time to cross the road for a double birthday party with plenty of food, games and lollies.
The following day as a cleaning day so while Mummy was cleaning, I looked out the window to see .....
Lucy and Annie cleaning Daddy shed.
The girls had filled a bucket with water, got some of Mummy's old hand towels and proceeded to clean the shed. They were so very proud of themselves.

After all that hard work it was time for some fun, BUBBLE BLOWING. The girls just love to do this. Annie has definitely got it down pat but Lucy is still learning to hold the bottle and blow the bubbles while not pouring out the liquid.

Lucy & Annie on the back steps.
After a day of cleaning and bubble blowing you can't go past fish & chips in front the T.V. watching a movie (Annie chose WALL E) to end a glorious day.

the girls enjoying dinner

After a fun filled day the day before, it was off the visit one of Mummy's friend in hospital who had just had a baby and then finish the night off with McDonalds for dinner.
So after a Mummy focused day, the next day was filled with lots of playing at the park with some great friends.

Annie

So after a full day at the park it was time to wait for the boys to return home, so what better thing to do then CHALK DRAWINGS on the driveway....

The girls and I had a wonderful time doing the things we wanted to do BUT it was so nice to have the boys and Daddy back home.

putt putt

For playgroup we headed off to 'Putt Putt Golf ' and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it!! Lucy did not quite make the 18 holes (let's say she made about 2 holes!!) and Annie managed about 14 holes. However, they did enjoyed exploring the area so with noone else there to annoy us mum's were more than happy for them to go exploring.

Annie's U8's day

Annie's U8's day was at beautiful local park with beautiful weather. Both girls had a fantastic fun filled day. They got to have their face painted, have a photo with Buzz and Woody, make a crown, blow bubbles, make a kite, run around an obstacle course, look in a police car and a fire truck and pat some farm animals plus much much more. Annie absolutely loved blowing the bubbles and Lucy just loved getting into everything!! It was a wonderful day and the girls were definitely tired by the end of it. All the C&K's teachers that participated in putting the day together did a fantastic job. Thanks so much

what all kids love to do

Lucy absolutely loves playing in the rain so when Mummy gave her permission to go splash in the puddles she did not need to be told twice!

baking with Noonie

On the Saturday before Annie's birthday, Annie and Noonie decided to do some special baking. They baked some special small birthday cakes to celebrate Annie's special day. Annie really enjoyed being in the kitchen with Noonie and Lucy really enjoyed the 'licking of the beater' tradition! Even though Lucy didn't help cook, at least she helped to clean up.

Lucy does not like to miss out on the action so when she heard Noonie doing the dishes she ran to the bathroom to get her step and proceeded to tell Noonie to move out of the way so she could give it a go. Lucy absolutely loved washing up. I just it continues!
